Privacy Policy

K-UBE ("we," "our," or "us") operates the MyPlate mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use MyPlate, including how we handle images — such as photos of food — when you use our AI-powered features.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
- Food photos and images — pictures you take or upload for calorie and nutrition analysis
- Profile & goals — data you enter such as age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and weight goals used to calculate your targets
- Food logs — meals, barcodes, and entries you record in your diary
- Account information — such as email or username, where registration is used
- Communications — support requests or feedback you send us
- Payment information — processed by the app stores, if you purchase a subscription
B. Automatically Collected
- Device type and operating system, app version, IP address
- Usage data — session activity, screens viewed, feature interactions
- Unique identifiers (such as Advertising ID / IDFA), crash logs, and diagnostics
- Subscription status
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide AI calorie and nutrition analysis of your food photos and barcodes
- Calculate your calorie targets, macros, and progress
- Maintain, analyze, and improve the App
- Provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data.
3. AI Processing of Food Photos
When you use AI features, the photo you capture or upload and technical metadata needed to process it are sent securely to our backend and then to our AI service provider, which returns the calorie and nutrition estimate. Images are used to generate your result and to maintain and improve the service. All transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Our current AI provider is OpenAI, L.L.C. (3180 18th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110 — openai.com/privacy). OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period solely to provide the service and monitor misuse, after which they are deleted unless legally required to be retained, and does not use your data to train its general models. We may change providers, and any provider will be bound to protections equal to or greater than those described here.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help operate the App (AI analysis, cloud hosting, analytics, support), each contractually limited to providing their service, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety. Nothing is sold.
5. Data Retention & Security
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes; data is deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards and encrypt data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction you may access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and withdraw consent. You can delete your account and data at any time:
- In-app: use Delete Account in the App's settings.
- By email: contact support@k-ube.com with the subject "Delete Account." Upon verification, your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted within 24 hours (some data may be retained where legally required).
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@k-ube.com.
8. International Transfers
Our servers and providers (including OpenAI, in the United States) may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the App you consent to such transfers to the extent permitted by law.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, are notified in-app. Continued use after changes take effect indicates acceptance.
